L’École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Clermont-Ferrand (ENSACF) est l’une des 21 écoles d’architecture françaises dépendant du ministère de la Culture. À la fois très ancrée dans son territoire et ouverte sur le monde, l’ENSACF offre à ses étudiants, plus qu’un lieu d’apprentissage, un lieu de questionnement sur leur futur métier, dans un cadre exceptionnel.

Près de 700 étudiants, 84 enseignants et 40 personnels administratifs se côtoient chaque année à l’ENSACF, dans une ambiance de travail dynamique et stimulante.

Fondée en 1970, l’École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Clermont-Ferrand était installée en centre-ville avant de prendre ses quartiers, en juillet 2015, dans l’ancien hôpital Sabourin, situé sur les Côtes de Chanturgue.
Le bâtiment a été transformé et adapté à ses nouvelles fonctions par le cabinet d’architectes Dubesset-Lyon.
Cet ancrage territorial fait partie des valeurs fortes de l’ENSACF, qui inscrit activement ses actions dans le territoire (local et régional). L’établissement tisse également de nombreux partenariats avec des collectivités locales, des parcs régionaux, des organismes liés à l’architecture, à l’environnement, à la culture.
En termes de formations, l’ENSACF offre un large panel, délivrant les diplômes nationaux en architecture (cycle licence et cycle master avec trois spécialisations au choix) ainsi que l’habilitation à la maîtrise d’œuvre en son nom propre. Les étudiants ont la possibilité de poursuivre en doctorat, ou de choisir l’une des formations spécifiques proposées en collaboration avec Polytech et l’Université Clermont Auvergne.
L’ENSACF est aussi un lieu dédié à la culture architecturale. Ouverte au public, la médiathèque propose un fonds documentaire d’une grande richesse. Une salle d’exposition accueille divers évènements : présentation des travaux d’étudiants, expositions diverses, bistros d’architecture organisés par les associations étudiantes, etc.
Les deux amphithéâtres accueillent des conférences de grande qualité. La maison du directeur de l’ancien Sanatorium de Sabourin est dédiée à l’accueil de résidences pour architectes, cinéastes et artistes.

Implanté sur les coteaux de Chanturgue, l’ancien hôpital-sanatorium a été construit entre 1932 et 1934 par Albéric Aubert, architecte des hospices de Clermont-Ferrand.
L’ancien sanatorium a fait l’objet d’une inscription à l’inventaire supplémentaire des monuments historiques en mars 2000. L’arrêté d’inscription englobe les trois bâtiments d’origine du domaine, le jardin d’accompagnement et la grille d’entrée.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
